Safe In Our World’s Mental Health Star Accreditation is the video game industry’s first and only certificate that demonstrates exemplary mental health and wellbeing practices in the workplace. It is our most comprehensive tool yet to support the entire global gaming industry!

The mission has always been to increase mental health awareness across the games industry and beyond. Our charity exists to deliver accessible wellbeing resources, to enable and encourage discussions which help reduce stigma, and normalise mental health as a topic of conversation.

Our work as a charity helps to safeguard the wellbeing of the people who make our industry tick – a goal we share with employers across the world! The Mental Health Star Accreditation recognises true commitment to mental health as an employer in the games industry, and is a clear indicator to talented individuals that they will be encouraged to thrive as part of your team.

We wanted to build something that worked for everyone – be you ten people crammed in a basement, or a AAA in a shiny penthouse studio. In an industry that never stops, we knew our Accreditation had to accommodate your deadlines, fit around your projects, and recognise your policies in progress.

How to become a mental health star

Getting Started
Access everything you need to know to start your journey - including an informal chat, free downloadable resources and guides.

2.

Evidence Time
You'll be fully supported through deploying a 30 minute employee survey and gathering evidence, which we then use in our audit.

3.

Audit Stage
Our industry experts review all your evidence to determine your scores and create a full report with anonymised employee feedback.

4.

Results Are In
After receiving your results, we'll invite you to a debrief to celebrate your successes, highlight areas for improvement, and help you plan your next steps.
