Level Up FAQ
What Is Level Up Mental Health?
Safe In Our World’s #LevelUpMentalHealth programme aims to boost workplace wellbeing in the games industry by providing mental health training, toolkits, and industry-inspired resources.
What does it mean to become a Level Up partner?
Becoming a Level Up partner involves taking our Level Up Pledge:
- Commit to implementing, or improving, a mental health and wellbeing strategy reflected in your workplace policies and procedures.
- Help us in our mission to destigmatise mental health. This includes being mindful of how you discuss mental health publicly, reviewing hiring practices, and adjusting internal and external communications accordingly.
- Support Safe In Our World’s growth. Consider displaying our Partner logo, amplifying our content, inviting us to events and panels, or participating in fundraising activities.
We understand all game industry companies are different, so the way you demonstrate these commitments will vary. When you join, we’ll discuss this with you!
Does it cost money to join?
No, you do not pay to join Level Up. Our mission is to remove the barriers to improved mental health awareness. Safe In Our World welcomes donations toward our running costs, but there is no paywall to accessing our mental health tools, resources, and training.
We just became a Level Up partner. What happens now?
New Level Up partners receive Safe In Our World’s Level Up Employer Toolkit alongside other useful resources to help get you started.
We’d encourage you to communicate this news to your team, so that they’re fully aware of the support now available to them. If you have a representative who’ll be accessing the Level Up Partner Portal, let your team know who this is. This person will be responsible for promoting our monthly training, downloading and sharing resources, and forwarding the monthly Level Up newsletter.
Can we post about joining Level Up Mental Health on social media?
Yes, please do! Sharing that you’ve become a Level Up partner with Safe In Our World on your social media channels can encourage more companies to get involved in our mission.
We’d encourage you to tag us in your post so that we can engage with is! Consider using Safe In our World’s #LevelUpMentalHealth programme to highlight the ways you’re already supporting your team, or your enthusiasm for learning more about mental health best practices.
How do I start to level up mental health at work?
Safe In Our World’s Level Up Employer Toolkit is the best place to start, as this introduces you to mental health best practices and the steps you can take to achieve them.
The toolkit will highlight changes you can make straight away, through to actions that may require additional policies, support, or budget. Consider turning these recommendations into a to-do list, reviewing who would need to be involved, and when you’d like the tasks completed.
How do we access Safe In Our World’s exclusive Level Up Mental Health training?
We host training and talks on mental health and workplace wellbeing topics every month. We’ll send you a monthly newsletter that highlights upcoming sessions available to partners. You can view upcoming events here or request a training session by contacting our team. Our Level Up exclusive training is password-protected; please refer to your onboarding information for the password.
