Emotional Resilience with Posy Brewer

Episode 10

In this episode, Rosie and Posy team up to talk about exploring emotional resilience in video games.

Posy Brewer (Founder, Game Creator and Designer at MYU Creations) tells Rosie about her upcoming game ROBIN, an explorative journey to help young people deal with their emotional well-being by finding, connecting, communicating and understanding themselves, allowing them to move forward to being productive and happy in their lives.

We talk about Posy’s experience in creating her first ever game, and the challenges she has faced in the development process so far. Posy explains how the inspiration began behind ROBIN, and how her son helped bring the game to life with their shared connection of robins.

Posy is using ROBIN as a way to also connect with other parents, and eliminate the negative stigma that often surround video games.

What is ROBIN?

ROBIN is an explorative journey to help young people deal with their emotional well-being by finding, connecting, communicating and understanding themselves, allowing them to move forward to being productive and happy in their lives.

Through guided experiences, available through a game and app, the user learns to identify their current emotional state and is coached through the steps towards a healthier, happier self.

As the user journeys through tailored experiences, points are earned and ‘cashed’ in to build and construct a tree house to their own design. The rooms of the household the individual adventures, logged as individual diary entries – a virtual fully logged journey of self-discovery and improvement.

People need to process their feelings and ROBIN allows you to do this in your own time and at your own pace. ROBIN is a platform giving you tools to help you when you need it.

Robins are often portrayed as symbols of loved ones being near, including your inner loving guide.
