Undertale is a delightful example of how hope and belonging can be fostered from even the darkest of corners in the world, especially when you feel like giving up.

This popular indie created by Toby Fox follows a small child after falling down into the Underground, a monster-filled world beneath the surface. Players control the child as they try to make it back to the Surface through hostile(?) environments, all the while engaging with a turn-based combat system with puzzle-solving and gentle bullet hell elements, as well as other unconventional game mechanics.

The characters are crafted to represent various aspects of our own insecurities, from seeing self-esteem issues in Napstablook, anxiety in Alphys, depression in Asgore, and self-destruction in Flowey and Chara. Undertale offers self-guided morality choices that completely changes the trajectory of the story, something that has been admired many times in this game.

With one of the most passionate fanbases around, Undertale presents charismatic and charming characters, humor, meaningful storylines and a fantastic soundtrack; all whilst focusing on the importance of friendships and determination.
