Apply now to become a Safe In Our World mental health ambassador for Class of 2027

Safe In Our World has opened applications for its Ambassador program and is seeking the next cohort of global mental health champions.

We’re once again inviting members of the games community to apply to become a Safe In Our World Ambassador. We’re also excited to welcome back our program sponsor, The Indie Stone, for the second consecutive year supporting the initiative.

Unpacking our Ambassador Program

We’ve been running our Ambassador Program for almost as long as we’ve existed as a charity, and as of World Mental Health Day, that’ll be seven whole years! Safe In Our World now has over 200 ambassadors in 15 countries, allowing us to bring our message and our mission to a global audience – and you could help us reach even further.

“Becoming an ambassador is an exciting opportunity to support a great charity! It’s incredibly fulfilling to know you’re contributing towards reducing the stigma around mental health and making the games industry more inclusive. You also get access to valuable resources to upskill your knowledge and grow into a mental health advocate for the games industry. I’d highly recommend applying if you’re passionate about improving the wellbeing of others.” – Adele, Ambassador Lead

Our Class of 2026 has supported our charity in so many wild and wonderful ways, from organising a wrestling match to hosting a live Dungeons & Dragons stream. There are so many ways to get involved and contribute to our charity. We’re looking to hear your ideas for future mental health projects in your application.

“Being a Safe In Our World Ambassador in 2026 has been one of the highlights of my year. It has given me the chance to connect with peers across the games industry who share the belief that it can and should be a safe, positive, and welcoming place for everyone. Through the programme, I’ve gained valuable resources, new perspectives and opportunities to contribute to projects I could never have imagined when I applied. Just as importantly, I have been able to give something back by sharing what I’ve learned with colleagues and the wider player community. I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone passionate about making the games industry a safer and more supportive space to apply.” – David, Class of 2026

Benefits of becoming an ambassador

As a Safe In Our World Ambassador, you’ll enjoy opportunities to attend local and virtual events, access exclusive training, and be invited to our private Ambassador channels in the Safer Together Discord server.

  • Regular charity updates via email
  • Priority access to internal news and initiatives
  • Profile added to our Ambassador page
  • Invitations to represent our charity at physical/virtual events
  • Free training opportunities
  • Ambassador Class of 2027 welcome gift

We’re also thrilled to share that the official Safe In Our World Minecraft server is now live for all our charity ambassadors, thanks to our friends at Kinetic Hosting. This new perk is available to all our ambassadors from current and past cohorts, giving us a shared space to get creative and collaborate.

“Becoming a Safe In Our World ambassador allowed me to connect with an incredible community of professionals working in the games space, who cared about making this industry a better place. It’s a safe place to acknowledge the difficulties of a career in games, but we can work together to change that!” – Jonas, Ambassador Class of 2025

How to apply

The program is aimed at people who are passionate about gaming and want to contribute to a safer community for those who make games and those who play them. Applicants don’t necessarily need to work within the games industry – the program is an opportunity for anyone with an interest in games and mental health to get involved.

Applications will close at 23:59 UK time on Sunday 25th October 2026, so please make sure to get your application in before that deadline. All applicants (whether successful or not) will be contacted in November 2026.

We cannot wait to meet our Ambassador Class of 2027 and begin our work together to grow Safe In Our World and bring better mental health awareness, tools, training, and resources to the games industry and global gaming communities.
