Devcember Industry Stars: Supportive Voices
Posted: 18 Dec 2024As part of Devcember, we’re shining a light on the often unseen stars of the games industry, and today we’re looking at those who shine brightest when they’re being supportive of others.
These four individuals have been nominated by their peers for their dedication to helping others. They go above and beyond to support their teams, their colleagues and their communities, and deserve to have some recognition.
Let’s take a look at these outstanding Industry Stars making the games industry a better place.
Nathan Dunton
Nathan is a true champion of neurodiversity, accessibility and mental health. An unwavering example of allyship and compassion, Nathan works tirelessly to ensure his friends and colleagues feel seen and supported. His efforts for ManyCats, and his dedication to his role in QA, illustrates just how energetic Nathan is – bringing unparalleled positivity and enthusiasm to everything he does!
That energy inspires those around him, and he’s described as the ultimate cheerleader for the games industry, especially within the spaces he has curated.
“Nathan is one of the most supportive people in this industry. He is always there to cheer you on and champion his peers. He is a gem of a human who is so passionate about making our industry a brighter, friendlier place.”

Radiant G
Radiant is an enthusiastic and vocal community member constantly using his voice to promote other diverse creators, recently evidenced in his popular Bluesky lists, allowing professionals and community members to more easily connect. He works to promote diversity and safety in online spaces, and is mindful of the varying nature of diversity and accessibility.
“He’s empathetic and understanding, and a very safe and lovely person to be around. He helps make spaces he is in safer by standing up for people and setting good, clear boundaries for safety for all members of those spaces.”
Radiant has also been a fantastic cheerleader for Safe In Our World, and we’re grateful for the enthusiasm he has for our mission – and the support he’s offered us on many occasions, representing our charity at events and in digital spaces.

Alistair McFarlane
Alistair is an Executive Producer at Rust at Facepunch, putting in the effort to ensure that this beloved title runs smoothly. An often under-appreciated role, Producers do incredible work to keep projects moving, organised and on track. Let’s show some appreciation for our project managers and recognise the efforts they go to not just to keep a project on track, but to also keep tabs on the wellbeing of their dev teams.
“Alistair works tireless to ensure Rust progresses in terms of game play, and player growth. He works harder and longer than anyone else I’ve ever met, and it’s all for his love of the game. This year saw us reach new heights with Rust and it’s mostly down to his tenacity and dedication!”

Leif Bayliss
Leif is an admired Community Manager and teammate who is keen to see others succeed. Their impressive jump up the role ladder from Associate CM to Community Manager in less than 2 years speaks volumes to their skills and passion. Every piece of content, every interaction, shows their commitment to community. It’s inspiring to see them achieve success after success! Community Managers play a crucial role in games development, and Leif is showing us how it’s done.
“Leif is a champion for community staff being involved within game development from the start, which has proved hugely beneficial to Junkfish as a studio & the community of fans. Due to these efforts, communication between departments is also constantly improving. Leif regularly creates social media & community reports that are accessible to everyone within the company. Creating accessible documentation is another way in which Leif champions accessibility & inclusivity for all within the games industry.”
