Safe In Our World’s Ambassador Class of 2025


We’re delighted to announce our brand new Ambassador Class of 2025!

30 passionate and impressive individuals were selected from a huge pool of over 175 applications, making this year’s applications one of the most competitive processes yet. These new Ambassadors bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm in game development and publishing, journalism, marketing, content creation and community. This new cohort also seeks to grow the charity more internationally by focusing on cultural and geographical intersections to mental health.

The Programme will be sponsored by Playground Games, Ninja Theory and Rare; a trio of renowned names in the industry, all keen to support the work of Safe In Our World.

Our Ambassadors strive to uplift the charity’s activities and outputs, whilst upholding our values and mission in mental health awareness within the games industry and wider community. After a highly competitive and challenging selection process, we’re ready to introduce you to our Class of 2025. So, without further ado…

Class of 2025

Adele Richards – Adele is a Social Media Coordinator with a passion for fashion games. She has a background in studying Game Art and draws on this experience to inspire her work. She is passionate about making the Games Industry a safer place for minorities, especially during these scary times. When she’s not writing copy and scheduling posts, Adele can be found walking her Pikmin and checking cat adoption sites (one day!!)

Argy – Argy, or KingArgaroth (he/him), is a Twitch Partner who plays a wide variety of games, loving first plays primarily. He hosts a welcoming space where he focuses on chat interaction – combining humour and spicy conversations alongside deeper conversations. Argy prides himself on being a responsible streamer and talks openly about his ADHD with his community.

Bibhuti Thapaliya – Bibhuti is a medical student, an avid gamer and a passionate mental health advocate, who believes in leveling up conversations about well-being & empowering individuals, especially in South Asian communities, to prioritize their mental health and self-care. Whether being part of events related to mental health or streaming as ItsBibhu on Twitch, she mixes compassion with creativity to empower individuals—because mental health deserves a spotlight as bright as their gaming screens!

ChochyChochy (They/Them) is a cosplayer and variety streamer with a focus particularly on indie games, accessibility and inclusion. A chaotic nonbinary person who loves to talk mental health and work on removing the stigmas people with neurodivergencies and mental illnesses face.

Daisy Treloar – Daisy is a marketing and communications manager in the games industry, currently working on some exciting titles at Fireshine Games. She’s passionate about widening accessibility in gaming and is a keen advocate for the indie space. When she’s not trying to make a dent in her ever-growing games backlog, you can find her at the cinema, taking in some live music, or trying to find the best hot chocolate in London.

Emily Hayes – Emily (they/them) works in games and tech in community marketing at places like Discord and AMD. They believe in the power of games to build strong, healthy communities where anyone can connect deeply with others and themselves. As a 2025 Ambassador, Emily hopes to help those inside and outside the games industry find safety and belonging.

Freddie (RurouniShogun) – Freddie is a multi-platform content creator on the East Coast of the United States. He started his content creation journey in 2018, humbly streaming from Playstation 4. As a multifaceted entertainer, he has combined his creativity and passion for Humanitarian efforts and Activist experience along the way. After the traumatic 2020 events of George Floyd’s death and the protests that ignited global awareness of police brutality in the United States, RurouniShogun decided to make a more conscious effort to advocate the spaces he is in. To him, it became an extremely personal mission. He began intentionally curating safe spaces for BIPOC and similar marginalized groups (LGBTQIA+ and Women) mental, emotional and physical wellbeing and representation in an amusing and engaging way.

Harvey Hayman – Harvey is a Game Designer and Developer. Along with co-founder, Holly, he runs Studio Morgan, developer of Morgan: Metal Detective. He also works as Games Lead in the Lab Team at Hat Trick Productions. He is the organiser of Good Game Dev Club, a monthly meetup at Loading Bar in Dalston, London for people who work in, or are looking to break into the games industry.

Hayley Blundy – Hayley joined the games industry in 2018, bringing a mix of experience from hospitality, retail, banking, healthcare, and even property! A natural empath and full of energy, she’s now the self-titled ‘Studio Mum’ at FuturLab. As Studio Welfare Manager, Hayley loves making sure the team feels safe, supported, and happy. Over the past few years, she’s been busy creating a wellbeing strategy, leading campaigns, and organizing events to bring everyone together. When she’s not at work, Hayley is a street dance teacher, a mum of two, and a big fan of fashion, weightlifting, and live music.

Jake Hogan – Jake is a non-binary developer who is early in their journey. They want to help uplift and support those working in the industry, having dealt with their own mental health issues and the stigmatisation of mental health in the past. They want to help uplift and provide support to others.

Jamie Naden An accredited Mental Health First Aider, BAFTA Connect & Game Awards Future Class member based at Rocksteady Studios, Jamie uses his platform to raise awareness and destigmatise topics including anxiety, depression & addiction. An unshakable optimist, Jamie believes in a better games industry, where a focus on taking care of each other can be made just as important as making great games.

Jonas Gawe – Jonas started working in the Games Industry at the beginning of 2024 as the Community and events manager for two organisations, Limit Break and Into Games. Jonas’ professional background has seen him working in DevOps, Hospitality and Events Management. When he’s not working Jonas can be found attending the nearest possible event, streaming, voice acting and playing (or DM’ing) DnD.

Marco Ng – Marco is the director of Otterweave Games Studio, and is currently developing EMITIME which combines rhythm and deckbuilding mechanics! He kickstarted his indie journey during his final year at the university, and understands how tough it is to start a studio from scratch, as well as the associated mental stress. He looks forward to working with SIOW and promoting their mission further!

Mashfiq Ahmed – Mashfiq (he/him) is a high school science teacher in New York City who is a huge advocate for educational technology and gamification tools in the classroom. Since 2020, he has been using Minecraft Education to help students with social-emotional learning, compete in esports, and learn about the environment and sustainability.

Mivi Studman-Badillo – Mivi (She/Her) is a Content Coordinator and Community Manager based in West Wales. She considers games to be a universal language, and channels her lifelong love of them into building meaningful connections. She also hosts and facilitates events for neurodivergent kids, creating spaces where play becomes a tool for connection. An advocate for mental health and neurodiversity, she’s passionate about fostering environments that prioritise empathy, creativity, and self-kindness.

Mj Lewis – Mj started working in games publishing and production in 2021. Formerly Head of Production at PQube and Firestoke, she’s now a Producer at Kepler Interactive. Passionate about ethical and sustainable game dev, her favourite part of the job is seeing other peoples’ pets on video calls.

Monroe Botan – Monroe is a Game Designer at Frontier Developments, currently working on Planet Coaster 2. While fresh to the industry, they are already making an impact by volunteering as a Video Game Ambassador. Having grown up in a low-income household and experienced estrangement, Monroe is passionate about advocating for awareness around the effects of trauma, PTSD, and burnout.

Natalie (The Mayhem Mermaid) – Natalie is a Puerto Rican LGBTQ+ content creator from NYC and a Twitch Latin Guild Leader. She champions mental health, supporting marginalized creators as a community manager and mentor. Known for her award-winning mental health content, she aspires to expand her impact through content writing and creator advocacy initiatives.

Nate – Nate is a variety geek content creator who started their content creation off the back of CBT for depression and anxiety. In recent years they have started the journey in coming to terms with being autistic as they work through the process of getting a diagnosis. In the last year, their depression and anxiety diagnosis was updated to having Dysthmia. Video games have always helped them regulate our mental health and its important to them to create a world where mental health is not a taboo subject.

Nathan Dunton – Nathan is a neurodivergent QA Tester who strives to support those in the games industry to the best of his ability. As someone who struggles with mental health, being able to support those who are going through similar situations is very important to him. He is a lover of a variety of games, especially indie, Pokémon and Banjo-Kazooie!

Nico Vergara – Nico is a freelance writer in games and tech whose words have appeared on IGN, Game Informer, and Fanbyte. Having grown up in the Philippines, where mental health topics are stigmatized, he knows how difficult it can be to go it alone. So, Nico wants to use Safe In Our World’s platform to reach out and help others struggling with their own issues and, ideally, destigmatize mental health discussions in our communities. When he’s not playing an 80-hour RPG, you can usually find him reading a fantasy novel or pretending he knows what he’s doing at the gym.

Parker Wallace – Parker (they/them) is a queer, neurodiverse, non-binary creative pixie specializing in event and non-profit management. While working with both the International Game Developer Association (IGDA) and Women in Games International (WIGI), they engage with everything they do with brightly coloured hair, a lot of caffeine, and probably a little too much glitter. 

Poonam Chowdhury With a PhD in game studies, Poonam Chowdhury is an independent games consultant who works at the intersections of mental health, gender, and games. She works with nonprofits in India to help design playful interventions that foster social good, empower marginalized communities, and promote wellness.

Selen Lun – Selen is an actor, writer, director, and producer. They’re the founder of Lun Family Company and XR Eventist. Lun Family Company is a global production company bringing DEEI matters and artists up front in creative industries, games, and XR technology. Selen graduated from İstanbul University State Conservatory

Tegan Harris – Tegan is a producer by day, tabletop/gaming nerd by night, with over a decade of experience working in the video game industry. Having both experienced and supported others with mental health struggles, she is keen to help raise awareness and offer insights to others to help build stronger teams.

Tim Hamilton – Tim is a queer gamer who finds connection and support through gaming. Games like Pokémon GO and Elder Scrolls Online have been lifelines for them in difficult times. Games have motivated Tim to get outside and find camaraderie in shared challenges. To them, gaming is a unique blend of art, music, storytelling, and technology that fosters mental well-being, connection, and inclusion.

Virginia Casagrande – Virginia is a certified translator by the American Translators’ Association, specializing in video game localization and transcreation (aka, adapting marketing copies). She learned English playing The Curse of Monkey Island and was fully immersed in the world of Middle Earth during her teenage years. She believes fostering a direct relationship between devs and localizers could be a healthy and beneficial practice to improve mental health within the video game community. Outside of work, Virginia enjoys off-screen time doing yoga, boxing and spending time in nature.

Wendi Ndaki  – Wendi tells stories through articles and animations, her work has been featured in Safe In Our World, PreMortem Games, and Games Industry Africa. She runs WAI Network in Kenya and hosts the animated podcast Creative Tech Convos. Wellness is close to her heart. She’s shared stories on inclusivity, burnout, grief, and work-life balance and wants to continue bridging the information gap to inspire wholesome thriving.

Yuta Tanaka (Dragon Wasabi Potato) – Yuta is a writer, editor, and content creator in the gaming industry. Yuta has been working with various Japanese game web media, such as AUTOMATON, 4Gamer and so on. Currently, he is taking a role as a contributor of Warp Door and creating the game called TELE as a team directorFor his independent work, Yuta runs Find Nice Games, the game curating website that introduces a lot of short games from itch.io including experimental games and social impact games. Yuta is an ADHD / ASD person and former editor of The Big Issue Japan.

Zoë Curnoe – Zoë is a 20+ year Production and Operations veteran of the video game industry and founder.  She has held leadership positions at companies such as Riot Games, Electronic Arts and the Coalition @XBOX. She founded Timbre Games in 2021 and then Lumina Leadership in 2024 as she transitioned into the next phase of her career as an Executive and Leadership Coach, Advisor and Consultant to the game and tech industries. She has been an avid Wonder Woman fan since childhood and lives with her husband and their two cats, Leeloo Dallas Multipass and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Vancouver, BC.
